At the initiation of Technology Asset And Configuration Management process, the Configuration Manager must understand the
scope and requirements for Technology Asset And Configuration Management, as stated in contract and Service Governance
Plan(SGP). During Transition Handover-In phase, Configuration Manager must develop Technology Asset And Configuration
Management Procedures, based on Capgemini standard approach. Technology Asset And Configuration Management Procedures
should cover the process for managing and baselining technology configuration items during change execution, managing
technology configuration management tools, updating Configuration Management Database, reporting for technology
configuration management, etc. Roles and responsibilities should also be defined and detailed. Tools to support and enable
Technology Asset And Configuration Management should also be selected.
Technology Asset And Configuration Management focuses specifically on technology configuration items and technology assets,
i.e. application and infrastructure, for Service Delivery. This stream works in tandem with engagement level “Document And
Record Management” stream in Unified Service Management (USM). While USM Document And Record Management process focusses on
establishing and managing documents within the engagement and across different engagements in Capgemini, Technology Asset
And Configuration Management centres around the configuration items related to technology assets (applications and
infrastructure) within the scope of engagement.
